Moving into Soul Consciousness Part 2

One of the steps to Soul Consciousness, is using our power to think – stop and think about things in the light of your Soul rather than give your power away to fear. For example when you have a problem, a challenge, sit quietly and ask Spirit and your Higher Self to help you to discern what you are to learn from this lesson/challenge and how to manage this challenge in the best way.

Another important step is to see everything as a lesson, challenge and opportunity. If it’s coming to you it’s because you need it and if you take it this way, you will learn and grow from it and not be a victim of it. You will turn a seeming negative into a positive.

This is about not blaming and not seeing things outside of self as the cause of suffering. The suffering is caused by our thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, interpretations, the stories we live by. Keep reminding yourself of this. The other may have behaved in an inappropriate manner or the situation you are faced with may be a difficult one, but if you accept it as coming to you as a lesson, you will take charge rather than feel powerless and stuck in it – and repeating the same experience.  Lessons are to help us. They are not to make life difficult – though that is how we most often see them.

Another step to Soul consciousness is building Soul powers or virtues. This means focusing on a Soul power such as love, joy, gratitude, willpower and so forth for say 7 days, meditating on it, practising it in daily life, learning from the lessons it brings to you [lessons come to help you to strengthen this power, this principle, in you so that when you are challenged you can call it in]. It means replacing vices with virtues. For example, you feel angry or resentful and you replace this with love. It’s also good in these situations to journal about the cause of your anger or resentment – not to just brush it under the carpet. You are learning to see it as your own anger and what needs clearing and healing rather than blaming it on outside causes.

We are now to become Soul conscious beings. This is our evolutionary goal at this time. We are to learn to think, feel, behave and speak as Soul conscious beings.

Having a sense of purpose is essential. It helps us to have a sense of direction. It brings focus and clarity to one’s life and helps us to give up that tendency to be all over the place, for our energies to be going in all directions. You can now choose to see your purpose as being to realise that you are a Soul and to learn to live in Soul consciousness.

We have believed that we are physical bodies and egos and lived as if separate from the Divine and unaware of the Soul. Ego, physical body consciousness, is about fear, separation, loneliness, threat, anxiety. Soul consciousness is about love and oneness, peace, joy and gratitude, abundance, willpower, order and rhythm, all is well.

Whenever there is fear, you are caught in separation. Fear is so prevalent in the world now. The more we focus on it, the more we experience it. We think this is normal – that this is reality and there’s no seeing it any other way.

Fear is so real because of our belief in separation. We can now learn to rid ourselves of this belief and replace it with belief in love and oneness. It takes learning, expanding our understanding, practice, patience and never giving up. The more you practise it, the more you will experience it. The more you focus on it, the more your experience of it will increase.

Often the strength of your lower self and, old faulty thinking of the negative ego, will pull you off and you will need to use your mind and your willpower to pull your attention back to your Soul and love, joy, gratitude, peace, abundance, willpower, wholeness, trust, oneness. This is how we do it – constantly picking ourselves up after a fall and keeping on keeping on, nurtured by the increased love, joy, peace and gratitude we experience.

 Cause and Effect

Every cause has an effect. Every effect has a cause. We need to think about things more and think in terms of cause and effect.

You might wake up with a headache and your immediate action is to go for a painkiller to get rid of it. There is no thought given to the cause of this headache – that the headache is an effect, the result of something. So instead of going for the painkiller, you could put a few drops of peppermint oil in your palm and rub your hands together and inhale. This will help and then sit with your journal and think and write about what caused your headache. Start at the physical level. Are you drinking enough fresh water? Are you getting enough exercise and fresh air? Did you eat too late? Is there enough fresh air circulating in your bedroom at night? Do you leave mobiles, computers and TVs outside of your bedroom? Did you have too much screen time the day before? Think what might have caused your headache at the physical level.

Then move onto the psychological level. Did you go to bed in an emotional state, with some issue unresolved? Were you watching violent or dramatic programmes before sleep?  Is there something about today on your mind? Are you stressed, tense about something? Think about why you have this headache and then you can really look after it and learn from it and make the adjustments you need to make so that you don’t need to keep having headaches.

You may notice that you are feeling moody or in a low mood. Ask yourself why, what has caused this and write about it in your journal. Ask your Higher Self to help you to understand the cause of your feelings. This way you don’t need to be a victim of your emotions.

If you have a reaction to something or someone, if something upsets you, ask why, what is causing this upset and write about it. And remember that the cause of your upset is coming from your thoughts, attitudes, beliefs and interpretations. The other person or situation is the trigger but not the cause.

Start to think more in terms of cause and effect and see what you learn from this and how it helps your understanding and taking charge of yourself and what you experience
