Love and Unity

There is a battle raging in our world and within ourselves –separation, fear, conflict versus unity, love, harmony. What’s happening in our world is really out-picturing what is happening within ourselves. The more we work to transmute inner conflict into harmony, peace and love, the more we will radiate these energies out into the world.

Every time you are pulled out of peace, you are experiencing conflict and part of our work in managing our energies is to transmute the conflict into harmony. Most of us live, most of the time, in a state of disharmony or conflict and mostly we are not aware of this.

There is a tendency to feel defeated, depressed by the conflict in the world – powerless to change this. However, the one person you can change is yourself and if you choose to take on the work of transmuting all inner and outer conflict in your life into harmony, peace and love – you can make a difference in our world.

Often if you are caught in inner conflict, it is mirrored in your outer life. Decide that you are going to observe yourself and to become aware of the times you are experiencing inner conflict or disharmony.  Make sure to journal about these experiences so that you understand the cause of your inner conflict. You may believe the cause is outside of you, but the cause is within you. Don’t try to work this out in your head as this just keeps it in the mental loop, at a mental level. You need to write it down, to see it physically, so that you can get clear and understand better. You might need to journal a few times on similar issues before you get more clarity and understanding. You will need patience and persistence.

When you observe yourself out of peace and experiencing conflict, ask yourself what’s upsetting you and use your journal to help you to get clear. Become aware of the power in you to transmute this experience of conflict into harmony. An example might be, you become aware that you are sitting tensely, anxious, and you choose to focus on peace or harmony and to relax your body. Try it.

Or you become aware that you are experiencing inner conflict and, when you journal about it, you realise that you are worrying about something, anticipating trouble or a negative outcome in a situation.  So you tell yourself that worry is of no use and that you need to focus on positive expectation, to focus on what you want and not on what you don’t want.  As you use your mind and don’t allow your feelings to run you, you transmute your experience of conflict into harmony and peace. Repeat the words harmony, peace a few times and feel the energy of these in your being and how good this is.

Moving into Soul Consciousness Part 1

We are now to become Soul conscious beings. This is our evolutionary goal at this time. We are to learn to think, feel, behave and speak as Soul conscious beings.

Having a sense of purpose is essential. It helps us to have a sense of direction. It brings focus and clarity to one’s life and helps us to give up that tendency to be all over the place, for our energies to be going in all directions. You can now choose to see your purpose as being to realise that you are a Soul and to learn to live in Soul consciousness.

We have believed that we are physical bodies and egos and lived as if separate from the Divine and unaware of the Soul. Ego, physical body consciousness, is about fear, separation, loneliness, threat, anxiety. Soul consciousness is about love and oneness, peace, joy and gratitude, abundance, willpower, order and rhythm, all is well.

Whenever there is fear, you are caught in separation. Fear is so prevalent in the world now. The more we focus on it, the more we experience it. We think this is normal – that this is reality and there’s no seeing it any other way.

Fear is so real because of our belief in separation. We can now learn to rid ourselves of this belief and replace it with belief in love and oneness. It takes learning, expanding our understanding, practice, patience and never giving up. The more you practise it, the more you will experience it. The more you focus on it, the more your experience of it will increase.

Often the strength of your lower self and, old faulty thinking of the negative ego, will pull you off and you will need to use your mind and your willpower to pull your attention back to your Soul and love, joy, gratitude, peace, abundance, willpower, wholeness, trust, oneness. This is how we do it – constantly picking ourselves up after a fall and keeping on keeping on, nurtured by the increased love, joy, peace and gratitude we experience.

 

Your Energy

The programmes you watch on TV, the films you sit through, affect your energy. If they are inspiring, they lift your energy. If they are violent, abusive, they churn up your feelings. If you go to bed after violent programmes, your sleep is not restful and restorative.

Observe yourself and others after violent, abusive programmes. Become aware of the effects of these types of programmes. Think about why you look at them – really give time to thinking about this – and decide to consciously choose what you will look at and what you will not. Violent programmes increase fear/attack thoughts and emotions in you. We don’t need more fear, aggression, violence in our world.

Think about what helps you to feel peaceful and calm – really give time to thinking about this and writing about it in your journal. Choose to make more time for these in your life and make sure you do. Observe the difference it makes to you when you spend time in activities that increase peace and calm energy in you.

Becoming aware of energy is really important. You may feel low energy and think that you are tired. You tell yourself you are tired and your body responds with tiredness. Instead, take your journal and ask yourself why your energy is low. What has been going on for you – in your thoughts, in your feelings? Negative thoughts and feelings are a main cause of tiredness or low energy. They drain your energy.

Check out what you have been eating and drinking because all food and beverages have their effect. Some energise your body whilst others rob you of energy and stamina.

If you are waking up tired, with little energy for the day, you can change this. Look at your diet and eating habits generally and see what needs changing. Write about it. Then think about other causes of low energy on waking up. Have you a plan for the day, a structure? Is there something going on for you, something challenging you, that you are not attending to? Are you generally stressed and not feeling in charge of your life? Take your journal and ask your Higher self to help you to understand the cause of your low energy on waking up.

Life is a precious opportunity and you need to become more aware of what’s going on for you, what’s bothering you, what needs changing and adjusting rather than just go doggedly on, ignoring, avoiding and thinking the cause of your low energy is outside of yourself.

 

Loving One’s Self

Most people believe that the only way to have more love is to get it from other people.  This is not how it works.

 

The most important relationship in your life is your relationship to yourself – if you don’t love yourself then this affects all your relationships.

 

Most of us have grown up believing that love of self is wrong, selfish, self-centred, and the right thing is to be trying to love other people and to forget about self.

 

However, if you don’t learn to love yourself then your need for love becomes central and you keep looking for this outside of self and trying to fulfil this need.

 

Only when you learn to love yourself will you be truly able to receive the love of others and your whole experience of loving others will be very different too.

 

 

The Story we live by

We all have stories we tell ourselves – such as there’s no support for me, I’m not good enough, nobody listens to me, other people are strong but not me –  and these stories colour our experience of life.

Now there is a story that we as humanity have been living out for a very long time – It goes something like this –

I am a physical body, an ego and I’m separate, on my own. I must always be ready to see the threat to me in any given situation.  I must be ready for fight or flight.

I must conform, fit in and make sure not to be rejected.

I must try to be approved of, liked, please others so that I feel ok.

I must constantly focus on what other people expect of me.

I need to impress others.

Fear is the feeling I experience a lot.

I keep looking for proof that I am lovable and worthy from other people  – as if only they can prove to me that I am lovable and worthy.

The world is a terrible place and the only solutions to our problems are war and looking after ourselves, looking after our own. Bad things keep happening – life is hard, tough, traumatic.

There is so much lack.

Life happens to us. You just get through it.

I need entertainment, distractions , to make it ok.

 

Now, I am going to tell you another story – a very different one –

See what happens inside you as you listen to this –

I am a Soul, Spirit living in this physical body.

I am here to learn, grow and discover – to seek truth, remember who I am, to make a difference.

Everything is teaching me exactly what I need to learn. Everything is helping me to grow in unconditional love. Life is a journey of discovery.

I trust in the benevolence of life.

I am never alone.

I have a Higher Self who is always there guiding me and loving me.

I can ask my Higher Self to throw light on any issue I am experiencing.

When I don’t know what to do, I can ask my Higher Self to guide me.

I know the Soul/Higher Self is my compass in life but it cannot guide me if I deny its existence and don’t turn to it for help and guidance.

I know that once I turn my attention toward the light of my Soul that I will no longer feel lost and I know I need to do this every day and not just when I am in trouble.

I need to practise this every day so that I learn to hear this guidance in my life.

I have experience that love heals. It connects me with other people. It builds bridges. It brings me to a sense of unity and oneness.

I see how love is truly more powerful than fear and how, when I choose love, it really helps me to overcome fear.

I know that we are all connected. Life is about working together for the greater good of all. My love can stretch to everyone.

I see in the world that many of the world challenges are sorted when we work together, reach out and care for one another. I feel so uplifted and inspired when we work together to find solutions and when I witness people out in the world making a difference.

I know that as we work together we can find solutions to challenges and discover resources among ourselves and within us that we never would have believed were there.

I enjoy my life and I give thanks for all my challenges and lessons and the opportunities they bring me to learn how to live in love and oneness.

 

Building a Relationship with your Higher Self

So why build a relationship with your Higher Self?  Your Higher Self is always loving, guiding, supporting you but generally you are not aware of this at all and experience life as if, deep down, you are on your own. This is so far from the truth.

Many will say but I don’t have any sense of being guided. That is because many have not even heard of their Higher Self. So I am not asking you to believe what I say but to think about it and try it out and learn from your own experience.

Most of us live very much outside of ourselves trying to fit in, to be liked, approved of, to matter, to be safe. We live by the code of fear that has such power over humanity. It’s time to change this.

Your Higher Self is your compass in life but it cannot guide you if you never turn to it for help and guidance and deny its existence.

You need to make it a practice every day to attune to your Higher Self, talk to her/him. When you don’t know what to do, ask for guidance and ideas. When you feel lonely or a bit lost, attune to your Higher Self and realise and feel how loved you are always, no matter what. You are never alone.

When you meditate you can attune to your Higher Self and to love. When you journal and are unsure what the lesson you are writing about is teaching you, ask your Higher Self to enlighten you. You will understand more – and more as you keep practising.

You need to do this every day and not just when you are in trouble. You need to take time to build your relationship with your Soul, your Higher Self. You have the love of your Soul within you, always there for you, ready to listen to you and guide you, waiting for you to ask.

 

Love or Fear

Just think there are only 2 emotions – love and fear. All the negative emotions we experience come from fear.  All the positive emotions we experience come from love.

We experience fear because we believe in separation.  Separation is another word for fear. We experience fear because we think we are a physical body and an ego. The ego sees separation and loneliness.

We have forgotten who we truly are. We have an ego but we are not the ego. We are Soul, Spirit and life is precious.  The Soul sees oneness and connection.  How different.

The ego has us constantly in flight or fight mode, under threat, trying to please, to fit in.

When we attune to Soul, to Spirit we are focused on truth and meaning and purpose, learning, growing, evolving, oneness.

When you feel the pull to fear, to upset, stop and think about it rather than going with your feelings.  Think what it looks like to see this situation through the perspective of ego and separation.  Then think what it is like to see it from the perspective of the Soul.

The Soul sees everything as a lesson, a challenge and an opportunity to grow.  Your energy then goes into seeing solutions and seeing the opportunity that this lesson is bringing to you. You don’t feel a victim of what has happened – you are taking charge and ready to learn and grow.

Your energy isn’t being drained in struggling against what has happened.  You are busy learning and growing, deepening your understanding and using the love, power and wisdom that is within you.

Every moment of our lives, we have the choice to choose love or fear.  Think about this.
