The psychological/consciousness level has 2 aspects – consciousness work and clearing the energy fields – because negative thinking and feeling cause negative energy to lodge in the energy field.

Consciousness work is about becoming aware of your negative thoughts, emotions, expectations, behaviour, patterns, so that you can clear and heal them. For so much of life we have been unaware of these, unaware of the hold of negative patterns in our lives. Nothing is taught about these in school and yet these are essential life skills. Now we have the opportunity to understand how the negative ego is operating in our consciousness and to change our experience of being a victim in life.

We get clearer on this when we understand lessons like personal power, self love and worth, preferences vs. attachments, 2 ways of thinking, 2 emotions, how our thoughts create our feelings.

We also help ourselves so much when we journal and seek to understand what our lessons and challenges are teaching us. When you are upset by something, sit and journal and write about the experience using these 4 questions – what happened? How did I react? Why did it upset me? What was it teaching me? This helps you in so many ways. You begin to see how the cause of the upset is within you. The other or the situation is the trigger but not the cause. When you focus on becoming aware of and changing your patterns, you experience real healing. It does take time and it really helps to do some of this work in groups as you realise how this negativity is operating in all of us. It’s nothing to be ashamed of. Clearing this is our path back home to love.

When you journal, you are listening to yourself [something we don’t do too much of], you are using your mind to understand your feelings and to take charge, you are beginning to connect with the wisdom and guidance within you and the loving presence of your Soul, your Higher Self.

We have not understood how to clear our consciousness – this essential Soul psychology has been missing in our education, but now we are getting more messages about how essential it is and many books are appearing on the matter which is great.

We all need to take responsibility for ourselves and the negativity we create and to become very clear about what we truly desire to create in ourselves and in our world. When we change ourselves, we help all. When we choose to focus on and build positive, spiritual energies in ourselves, we radiate these energies out into our world. This is powerful.

Negative thoughts and emotions cause negative energy to lodge in our fields and when we consciously replace these negative patterns with Soul Powers such as love, joy, peace, gratitude, faith, trust, abundance, kindness, we clear the negative energy. We now carry these wonderful energies around in our aura instead of the negative energies that drain us and drag us down and bring us more of what we don’t want. Let’s focus on creating more and more of what we do want.

Moving into Soul Consciousness Part 1

We are now to become Soul conscious beings. This is our evolutionary goal at this time. We are to learn to think, feel, behave and speak as Soul conscious beings.

Having a sense of purpose is essential. It helps us to have a sense of direction. It brings focus and clarity to one’s life and helps us to give up that tendency to be all over the place, for our energies to be going in all directions. You can now choose to see your purpose as being to realise that you are a Soul and to learn to live in Soul consciousness.

We have believed that we are physical bodies and egos and lived as if separate from the Divine and unaware of the Soul. Ego, physical body consciousness, is about fear, separation, loneliness, threat, anxiety. Soul consciousness is about love and oneness, peace, joy and gratitude, abundance, willpower, order and rhythm, all is well.

Whenever there is fear, you are caught in separation. Fear is so prevalent in the world now. The more we focus on it, the more we experience it. We think this is normal – that this is reality and there’s no seeing it any other way.

Fear is so real because of our belief in separation. We can now learn to rid ourselves of this belief and replace it with belief in love and oneness. It takes learning, expanding our understanding, practice, patience and never giving up. The more you practise it, the more you will experience it. The more you focus on it, the more your experience of it will increase.

Often the strength of your lower self and, old faulty thinking of the negative ego, will pull you off and you will need to use your mind and your willpower to pull your attention back to your Soul and love, joy, gratitude, peace, abundance, willpower, wholeness, trust, oneness. This is how we do it – constantly picking ourselves up after a fall and keeping on keeping on, nurtured by the increased love, joy, peace and gratitude we experience.

Right through each day we have the choice to see what happens through the eyes of our Soul or from the perspective of ego – beginning as soon as we wake up. Observe how you are when you wake up and what kind of thoughts you are having as well as what kind of emotions you are experiencing. And do you tend to want to bury your head under the covers and avoid waking up?

Most people wake up with a sense of anxst or tension, in a state of hypnosis – hypnotised by the widely held belief in the world that separation and fear are real and it’s a matter of making the best of a troubled and difficult world. For the most part, we feel on our own, alone, caught in a sense of me.

It’s so different to wake up and attune to your Higher Self, your Soul, to the Divine being that you are. This has you connecting to your Self and the Love, Power and Wisdom within you.  Now you are empowered. Then you could focus on the power and willpower within you until you have a strong sense of this. Now focus on joy and repeat this word until you feel it vibrating through your energy field.

Making time to meditate and journal when you get up, strengthens your connection to your Soul and the purpose of your life, your day. You are stronger and clearer. You are Soul attuned and so it will be easier to see lessons that come up as challenges and opportunities to grow – and not as bummers.

When you are pulled to see something that upsets you from the perspective of ego, you will be quicker to be aware of your choice to react from your ego [and its interpretation of put down] or to respond from your Soul and your desire to learn and grow.

When you have made a mistake and reacted, you will be quicker to not give power away to your critical inner parent and self abuse and, instead, to love and forgive yourself and determine to improve and not make that mistake again.

Some months ago I found myself reacting to another’s anger with anger. I took myself off to get something.  As I walked down the stairs I thought, oh Gill, lesson, challenge, opportunity and I smiled. Then I could see more clearly than ever before the choice before me – put the other down expressing my “righteous” anger or choose love. Choosing love felt good – not just for the other but for me too.
